"...Miss America!" Here is something kind of cool: Miss America from 1992 is the spokesperson for a site called Walmart versus Women, which is dedicated this class action lawsuit against the store. And that's just the tip of the iceberg. They are the world's largest and most profitable corporation, and still they steal from American taxpayers to subsidize their organization! I hate Walmart. They are evil bastards who exploit their workers, lie to the public, destroy small businesses, and steal from the taxpayers. Here are some information sources. Please, don't cross over to the dark side... stay away from Walmart as much as possible.

I hope those that can afford to shop in other places will do so. It's understandable why the poor shop here although they only end up hurting themselves in the longrun. But, when you are barely able to make it on a minimum wage you are forced to go where the prices are the lowest and many times this is Walmart. The system sucks, big time.
But again, if those that can afford to pay a bit more will stop giving Walmart their money it will make a difference. Afterall, the poor are not the big spenders.
Agreed. By the way, Frenchie, I hope it doesn't seem too odd that I post the same piece, both here and in Pourqois Pas. I just figure there are different people browsing through each blog, so I would cover both areas 8^)
We've made the conscious decision to frequent Target instead of Walmart in large part because of the reasons you outlined. But we've also found they have superior merchandise and customer service. I'd say the prices are comparable as well.
Not only that, but when I go into Target, I can express my inner hipster 8^)
ok to the person who said the system sucks i honestly want to know what you would replace it with. so what its ot perfect nothing is. and hello have any of you ever heard of the free market. the free market told those smaller bussiness owners that were shut down by walmart that their prices were to high. will it destroy those poor innocent poeple who have been hurt by the big money gradding corrpuration. only if they let. do you relize that losing you job?bussiness can also be the best thing that could ever happen to you. there are so many peeps that have great ideas and never really put them into action until they become unemployed. of and if you going to say that socialism or some other economic system like that is what we should change to than maybe you should read the wealth of the nations.
Vavoom: Thanks! I'll visit your blog, too.
Shirley Temple: Okay, I checked your profile and discovered you are quite young, so I will forgive your obvious lack of knowledge about this stuff. It is almost comical that every right-winger reacts to criticism by telling me to read Wealth of Nations. Is that something they are indoctrinating youth with these days? Too much Faux Snooze perhaps? Listen, Shirley, please read the articles that are linked in the post. They will open your eyes to some new facts, which you would do well to consider. Walmart's practices are most decidedly not "free market." A free market involves healthy competition. Walmart, on the other hand, relies on corporate welfare, they exploit slave labor in other countries, they hire illegal immigrants and abuse them, they lie to the taxpayers and to their own customers, and they destroy other businesses and jobs. Read the bit about Walmart employees being required to apply for public assistance, even being encouranged by the store to do so. That's right: you who decry socialism are defending an organization that exploits "socialist" entitlement programs in order to reap obscene profits!
Keep exploring, and please seek alternative points of view and information. The path to enlightenment involves the discovery of shocking truths. By the way: Spell Check, kiddo!
