Shea - as I said in my PP comments, kudos on another unique and funny post.
Quid Pro Quo (since you were so forth coming in your post-comments) let me say, you're pushing 10 ahead of me (just celebrated my b-day 3 wks ago), I used to be an executive-level assistant before I got promoted to full-time mom, and I used to hang out & watch my hubby play drums in his rock band back in the day.)
Hey, cool! Those of us who comprise the rythym section are a special breed. And the best thing is, you don't have to conform to that old stereotype that your husband "doesn't listen"... it's obviously band-induced hearing loss!
Ah yes, the ol' Pete Townsend syndrome! Most women just have to deal with their husband's selective hearing (ie he selects what/when he wants to hear). ;)
Oh, and speaking of rhythm sections, Geddy Lee rocks. And Neil Peart is a phenominal percussionist (and that's an understatement). Rush "Power Windows" is currently in the CD player of my mommy-mobile. My little one likes to sing along with the "ahs" in Grand Designs. :)
SheaNC! A coupla days ago I was listening to "funeral for a friend/love lies bleeding" by elton john and I was absolutely floored by Dee Murray's bass parts
(wait a second, that sounds a bit kinky, especially with sir elton in the mix)
But speaking of mix, it must be off of the 30th anniversary rerelease, because it was like hearing the bass in the song for the first time!. He absolutely rips in love lies bleeding even on my pitiful little eMac.
check it out!
btw congrats on the second contribution to porkies paws. 50 responses... not bad!

And it's a good one, Shea, in spite of your one detractor who was offended at your suggestion of a Bush Mars trip.

Yeah, Geddy Lee is in the same category as Entwistle, along with Chris Squire of Yes. And, Neil Peart is a favorite of mine, too.
Wow, Mike, "Love Lies Bleeding" has always been one of my total favorites, too. I was a weird kid :)
Yeah, I was kind of amazed that I generated 50 responses, too. Gosh... little old me!?
