Another Take on Flight 93

ANOTHER VIEW ON FLIGHT 93
"'But maybe the 'why' can be answered in part by 'who' made Flight 93. It arrived packaged and promoted by Universal Studios, which is owned by NBC Universal, which also owns NBC, which is all owned by General Electric, media giant and major weapons contractor. What's more according to la.indymedia.org , General Electric donated $1.1 million to GW Bush for his 2000 election 'run.' MSNBC is an NBC joint venture with MS or Microsoft that kicked in $2.4 million to get GW Bush elected. Now, where do you think the movie's point of view is coming from?'"
All one can say is hmm...

By your logic, NBC News would be as right-wing as FoxNews. (It isn't).

NBCUniversal is the most independant of GEs many businesses...able to make its own creative decisions. Jeffrey Immelt (GE CEO) holds each division of GE to it's own set of profitability standards. NBCUniversal wants to make a profit. They made the movie because they assumed it would make money - plain and simple. NBCUniversal would not make a movie simply for propoganda and risk taking a hit to profits for the benefit of a separate business within the GE structure.

Anon, nbc doesn't have to be as "rightwing" as fox to be as equally complicit in maintaining the status quo of it's parent company and more importantly, the health of the big business model for all of corporate america. You have fallen into the trap that most of america has fallen into, assuming that there is a substantial difference in the "jounalism" of the right and left. There isn't, the goals of mainstream media and mainstream politics are the same, maintaining a healthy environment for corporations to continue the exploitative and destructive policy of profit before all else.
