Severe Election Problems Seen in 10 States! Damn! If this doesn't get straigtened out like right-the-f**k-now, there's going to be hell to pay, because there's an awful lot of us who will be ready to grab the pitchforks if we go to bed on election night with polls dramatically favoring Democrats, and find that, once again, the results magically transformed into a Republican victory. How long must we be subjected to this vote theft!?
And another thing: this is something the repukes should care about, too. If they establish the precedent that this election fraud is okay, then eventually the opposition party will say, "If you can't beat 'em, join 'em," and mount a counter-attack (or counter-a-hack).
UPDATE: More problems in Sacramento...

By the way, here's a great post at Is America Burning about protecting our vote, etc.

I agree 100% with all ya say. This evening I watched Lou Dobbs while prepping stuff for dinner, and there was a segment I saw about an old coot in FL who was beyond pissed that when he voted for Nelson (D) that it went to Katharine Harris (R). He said he'd no sooner vote for her than he'd vote for the Devil, and he anounced how he fought in Korea to defend our freedoms and right to vote and how his grandson was in Iraq doing the same and he'd be damned if he'd sit back and watch his vote get stolen. So, I got an idea. Maybe it will take Lou Dobbs watching old coots to get this thing to change. When us libs, anti-war folks, and college young-ins protest, we can get painted as "fringe" leftists. But if old coot veterans get pissed off... it is a whole 'nuther story.

I participated in an election in my local union when I was still working, that was certainly borderline ethics wise, and probably walking the fine line of criminal. The group in charge had been in office twelve years. In "union time", that was half a liftetime. I complained about "our" lack of ethics to a higher up, and was told: "As you know, that's how they got here, and that's how they've stayed here. First you need win. THEN, you can clean the swamp." I vehemently disagreed, and later broke away from that group. But his words turned out to be prophetic. It was the only way to beat that group, as a later campaign finally did.
My fear, given the sad sack bunch we have to call Democrats, is, once they do get in office by the former administation's tactics, WILL they clean the swamp, or will they just make another power grab as this group has done? The defections from our party by those who supported Bush's torture bill, has left me with little or no faith in them at all. I question severely whether putting more Democrats in that sinkhole will do any real good....or will it just result in them using the current illegalities to stay in office themselves? Imo, it does little good to put a group in there that says: "Yes, but we're polite crooks." They're still crooks!!
The best way to defeat an advisary, is to collect their own stock of ammo on the sly, then turn it against them.
Criminal? Yes. Two wrongs don't make a right. But all is fair in love and politics. Let them whine for 12 years about the unfairness of it all.
It's Worried's post but thanks anyway.
:'(
I have to sign up for something to read the link to the Sacramento Bee.
Tina: Yes, indeedy!
Future: Yeah, my voting life has been an exercise in determing the lesser of two (or three) evils.
Beltway Bastard: Indeed. I think there's a lot of able hackers out there who would probably jump at the chance.
Granny: Oops! Sorry about that...!
Msliberty: Sorry about that, too, I forgot about the registration thing. I hate when that happens!
