Who's the Evil Empire Now?

The article "Oil and Blood" describes what a lot of us have been saying for a long time:
"The Bush administration has no plans to bring the troops home from this misguided war, which has taken a fearful toll in lives and injuries while at the same time weakening the military, damaging the international reputation of the United States, serving as a world-class recruiting tool for terrorist groups and blowing a hole the size of Baghdad in Washington's budget."

"But the whole point of this war, it seems, was to establish a long-term military presence in Iraq to ensure American domination of the Middle East and its precious oil reserves, which have been described, the author Daniel Yergin tells us, as 'the greatest single prize in all history.'"

"What has so often gotten lost in all the talk about terror and weapons of mass destruction is the fact that for so many of the most influential members of the Bush administration, the obsessive desire to invade Iraq preceded the Sept. 11 attacks. It preceded the Bush administration. The neoconservatives were beating the war drums on Iraq as far back as the late 1990's."

"Iraq was supposed to be a first step. Iran was also in the neoconservatives' sights. The neocons envisaged U.S. control of the region (and its oil), to be followed inevitably by the realization of their ultimate dream, a global American empire. Of course it sounds like madness, which is why we should have been paying closer attention from the beginning."

"The point here is that the invasion of Iraq was part of a much larger, long-term policy that had to do with the U.S. imposing its will, militarily when necessary, throughout the Middle East and beyond."

"That should be understood by the people who think that the formation of a permanent Iraqi government will lead to the withdrawal of American troops. There is no real withdrawal plan. The fighting and the dying will continue indefinitely."
So, if anyone is looking forward to this bait-and-switch routine they're calling "troop withdrawal" that might happen sometime near the 2006 elections, think again.

This is not a "war on terror." It is part of America's imperial design. More accurately, PNAC's design, to become the dominant power on the global political stage; in fact, to be come the only power, with all others subservient to us. They want America to exercise complete control over all the world: politically, economically, militarily, culturally, psychologically, morally, sexually, and spiritually. That's one reason, in fact, why they despise the idea of a "united nations" to secure the rights of sovereign nations. The Neocons don't recognize any other country's right to exist (case in point: "There is no such thing as the United Nations. [The international community] can be led by the only real power left in the world and that is the United States when it suits our interest..." John Bolton, 1994 Global Structures Convocation, New York, NY. - the Neocons couldn't get this isolationist creep confirmed as ambassador to the U.N. even when their own party controls all three branches of government(!), so they simply installed him anyway.).

What so many don't seem to understand is that this is not a "war" in the sense that it will be won by one side and then be over. This is just a step in the Neocon's plan to place the world under America's permanent control, forever. The military deployments will not stop; they will continue and increase as Neocon America requires such force to maintain that control. And, since people tend to resist such scenarios, it means permanent war. Forever.

So... who is the evil empire now?

Scary but awfully close to the truth I'm afraid. As my blog is in Dutch (I may once start one in English), I have a couple of interesting links for you: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/2859431.stm and http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/4127654.stm - they're about Robin Cook, a former UK minister who resigned when the UK declared war on Iraq - one of the few noble men in the world of politics!

Bases in Iraq make a good launching point for attacks on such wonderful locations as Iran, Syria, name your favorite kitty litter box...

And the imperialist machine marches on and the reichwing wonders why "they" hate us still.
