The Definition of "Asshole"...

...is George W Bush. Example: in the article Bush will `go on with life':
President Bush, noting that lots of people want to talk to the president and "it's also important for me to go on with my life," on Saturday defended his decision not to meet with the grieving mom of a soldier killed in Iraq.

"But whether it be here or in Washington or anywhere else, there's somebody who has got something to say to the president, that's part of the job," Bush said on the ranch. "And I think it's important for me to be thoughtful and sensitive to those who have got something to say. But," he added, "I think it's also important for me to go on with my life, to keep a balanced life."
In his own words, it is important for Bush to ignore this situation and "go on with his life." ...so he can go on destroying the lives of others. When will his followers come to their senses and realize he only regards them as pawns, and their "lives, fortunes, and sacred honor" are just his playthings? Bush is a harvester of souls in the most diabolical sense of the word. I have said it before - if I was a christian, I would be convinced that Bush is the antichrist. Really.

as if his life is so darn difficult...long vacations inthe middle of nowhere...decisions based on falsehoods that get others killed while he spends time doing...what exactly? oh yes...enriching his corporate buddies and running from dead soldiers' mothers.
Wasn't there something he said long ago about returning dignity to the office of president??? is this as good as he can do?

We all should hang our heads low and be particularly embarassed about our president. Those who voted for him should be besides themselves with greif. He won't be delivering them to the promised land at least unlesss it is via the judgement day promised all who believe they have been "saved."

Yeah, at least we can be pleased with the fact that we didn't vote for the guy. Or for Cheney, or whoever was actually running...

What about the nice W supporter who trashed the cross garden at Camp Casey?

Shea,

Not being uncouth here, but just wondering. I like to give everyone a fair shake. Believe me, I go to "conservative" blogs, and I give the same amount of grief, the same amount of defense. It is important that one maintain proper perspective (not saying that I have the franchise on that)and the way I try to always think through things is to consider every angle, not just the one that fits my paradigm. (of course I often do that too).

Ok, consider this. Here is the position of Cindy. And, she is entitled to her opinion!

"BUSH PROTESTING MOM CALLS FOR 'ISRAEL OUT OF PALESTINE'; VOWS NOT TO PAY TAXES"

Now I guess my question is, what would be accomplished if Bush talks to every anti-war anti-Israeli protestor out there? I hate that her son got killed, but he was an adult, he enlisted in the armed services, and the army is about "blowing things up and killing people". I don't see where that would qualify her for any special privileges--geez, most of our Presidents never met with the families of dead soldiers anyway. (Clinton included). Cindy's mind is made up, there is nothing Bush can say that will change her mind, there is nothing particularly she can say that will change his mind. As a matter of fact, he has reason to fear her, because she has massed people outside his home who may mean him harm.

So what would be the point of opening the White House doors to every parent of every dead soldier out there so that they can bitch at you?

To me it doesn't make sense. Clinton sent soldiers to their deaths, and so has every commander-in-cheif to date. (Watch "Black Hawk Down" if you want to see a truly horrifying and unjust lapse on the part of Clinton).

I realize you don't like Bush, Shea, but there is an element of reasonableness in all of us that should not go to extremes in judgement. Do you think you are judging fairly on this issue, or have you come to this conclusion because of what you feel about Bush? (I know Republicans who are still judging everything Ted Kennedy does by Chappaquiddick)

No criticism, just something to provoke a little thought.

Take care,

-Jack

Bush is a fool. With his approval rating on the war and trustworthiness continuing to drop, he should have taken this situation and crafted it into a message about how supportive and sympathetic a President he is, how in touch with reality and the people he is. Then he should have followed that up with propaganda about how the troops are proud to fight on behalf of him in that light. Maybe even win over a few opponents in the process. Instead, he keeps fostering his non-accountability and devisive act. Not to mention Rove's a tad distracted these days, and Bush is too foolish to figure all of this out on his own.

Hmm...Sar, are you saying that he chose not to be fake?

Isn't that a quality?

That's not what anyone is talking about, Jack. We're talking about one person who has been chosen as a symbolic representative of many people who protest the war, and she deserves, at the very least, a polite response, even from a distance, instead of the sneering contempt that Bush oozes whenver he is questioned by one of his subjects. He had a golden opportunity to address this very important issue and win support, or at least win understanding by the many, many people who are infuriated by this war. And instead of seizing that opportunity, he squandered it (as he always does) by being even more hateful and dusgusting than he was before.

By the way, Jack, Clinton did not send soldiers to their deaths in Somalia - that was Bush I, who sent them, left office, and left Clinton with the situation.

Jack - Not sure where your querry stems from other than to kick things around a bit, but I think Shea's above comment pretty much answers it. And I'll add that for Bush to chose being fake would require him to have a strong handle on reality and specifically choose a course of action that runs counter. I'm of the opinion that he's yet to gain that handle on reality.

Jack Mercer said...

I guess you both make my point then, Sar and Shea. It doesn't matter what Bush does, its evil. Just wondering...

-Jack

Your right about Somalia--It was Clinton who abandoned the soldiers there--my mistake.

SheaNC said...

Jack, you always try to get to me by invoking Clinton. Well, I could go on about ex-presidents, but the source of evil that deserves our full attention is the BFEE.

Jack Mercer said...

I know, Shea, but like Sar said, I just like to kick things around a bit. :)

Actually my comment was that all presidents had sent soldiers to their deaths. Clinton, Carter, Bush, Bush, FDR, etc...

Oh no! When I saw the title "Definition of an Asshole" I just assumed it was about a guy I used to work with; Norman Glickman. OK, Bush is an asshole, too.
