Thousands of dolphins block Somali pirates
Thousands of dolphins blocked the suspected Somali pirate ships when they were trying to attack Chinese merchant ships passing the Gulf of Aden, the China Radio International reported on Monday.

Dolphins Evolve Opposable Thumbs
"I believe I speak for the entire human race when I say, 'Holy fuck,'" said Oceanographic Institute director Dr. James Aoki, noting that the dolphin has a cranial capacity 40 percent greater than that of humans. "That's it for us monkeys."

Hmmm... :)

Do you think the Chinese Navy is ahead of our Navy in dolphin research?

Not as long as we have Henry Limpett on our side!

Henry Limpett! I always liked him, his fish and Barney Fife!

I was doing some research on dolphins and the CIA and I was rather sickened at what they actually do to the dolphins in training. I ended my research right there as I didn't want the visual stuck in my brain.

Have you ever read "Galapagos" by Vonnegut? We humans eventually evolve into creatures that lack opposable thumbs so that we can't pull the pins on hand grenades.

Here's a near quote as far as I can remember,

" ... but still, when they would lay on the beach in groups and one of them would fart they would all laugh and laugh."

There's hope for us yet!

That's a great foundation to build on:

"they would lay...

1. in their dorm rooms
2. in their apartments
3. in the back of the van
4. ____________________

I have always remembered that quote, or semi quote, from 'Galapagos", and not only did we 'devolve" to no opposable thumbs, we also returned to being semi-aquatic creatures, hence the 'laying in groups on the beach..."
And still human enough to "laugh whenever someone farts"
