Worth a Look...

Hmm. Lots of interesting links in this tidbit about how Al-Qaeda is a US Intelligence Asset. The things done in our name are appalling, aren't they?

Thank you so very much for your comment on Is America Burning re: my post about DUs etc. I am appalled at the general lack of interest exhibited by the public at large about the war victims, our nation's war crimes, the poisoning of not only the "enemy" civilians but also our own troops, and on and on for a rant too long for a comment.

I post on two war blogs and in several hundred posts have had only three or four comments. Posts re: the war on Is America usually get no comments at all.

Your interest is deeply appreciated.

Ah yes, the Russian invasion of Afghanistan. The CIA had great fun training the Mujahadeen, didn't they. Ended up biting them in the ass.

The U.S. doesn't like people to remember that they trained todays terrorist leaders when it suited their needs. Oh, the Reagan era...

And Iraq is now the enemy. They weren't back when Rummy was shaking Saddam's hand and we supplied weapons for the Iraq-Iran war.

Well sothis, your knowledge of contemporary middle eastern history is extraordinary. I likely am not the first to thank you for placing yourself in such enormous danger to be able to return and report to the rest of us that which you have witnessed. Lucky you were not just hunkered down in Kabul or the green zone, eh? So, how lovely is the Panjshir this time of the year? I have never been there so late in the season. A real shame about Massoud, eh?

Things done in our name are indeed appalling...as are the things we're allowing to be done to us by this administration. The slow erosion of our own freedoms is horrifying in the extreme.
