US Supports the Halliban with Blood, Flesh and Bone

This happens because this happens.

What else can one say. Some sick bastards, indeed, are running this country right now.

Holy sh#t Batman!! The charts showing correlation between profit and death for hell-a-burton should be a wake up call for all of us!

I guess I always come back to this question. If not Haliburton then who?

This confuses me a little. Haliburton is the only company that provides the services it does.

And why are these services so vital to the American efforts. Why aren't Iraqi companies and people being trained to do the jobs that halliburton is doing? Why isn't their oil money paying for the infrastructure and equipment costs? Isn't that what we were all told would happen?

Why isn't the $200 billion+ we've been dinged for at least properly outfitting our troops?

And yet, Hallliburton's profits surge, as I'm sure the "blind trust accounts" of this administration's leaders are as well.

We are engaged in a war for western civilization. This war will touch many decades. It will take enormous courage and conviction to prevail. We did not expect your support or help. Further, it would not be welcome.
You sir, have been relieved from duty.

You may speak. That is your birthright. But you will not participate. You are not supposed to "get it".
Dismissed.

In a war of wit, you are pathetically unarmed.

lick, if you're going to rely on someone elses wit, at least credit the source.

I refuse to have a battle of wits with an unarmed person.

Jack asks, "If not Haliburton then who?"

That's like saying street gangs who kill people in drive-by slayings are an important part of the eco system and prevent people from dying of cancer and heart disease.

Gee, if not the totally corrupt, unethical, soulless thieves who rob us blind, then who? Maybe someone who is not thoroughly corrupt? No, that's against policy. Maybe the billions given to Haliburton could instead be used to buy proper armor and maybe replace the veterans benefits that were cut?

Here's the best answer: we should never have gone to war in the first place when the only reason for going was to enrich Haliban stockholders and other members of the corporate elite!

Anonymous, you must be confused. "Mike of the Nord" is a character from a Star Trek episode. The Nord were a powerful race of giants, who used electronic devices to stun their enemies with a powerful blast of sound.

Hey, wait a minute...

Jack, It's not an "if not... then who?"
It's a "why?".

Why are we in iraq? Why should we give money to any companies to support a war that is being waged solely for profit?

Are the people of the united states really in a better place because of an unjust war?

I understand, Guys. I don't excuse any underhanded dealings by anyone. I don't approve of ethics violations or being dishonest in business dealings. Haliburton should be dealt with just like any other company if they have done wrong. My overall question is that Haliburton is the only company of its kind that provides the services that it does. There is no competition, no company that is willing to do what it does. If this is the case, then saying that a company "overcharged" for a service is not correct. They set the price at whatever they want to and the service can be purchased or not. Now if there are things going on like bogus invoicing, etc. then that is wrong. This is where my question is coming from.

There is an excellent post over at Ken Grandlund's site:
